Parish History

INTRODUCTION
Every parish is a miniature copy of the Kingdom of God, and the same is the case of All  Saints Mar Thoma Parish in Peterborough. Its only with the grace of God that we could establish “All Saints Mar Thoma Church” in Peterborough as part of the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church. It is worth to take a moment and remember how the wonderful God has led us over that past nine years. During the year 2005 on account of employment opportunities, happened to be a small migrant group of Marthomite families in an around Peterborough. The God fearing people formed a prayer group which became one of the prayer groups of St. Johns Mar Thoma Church, Hounslow. Eight years later, on 1st February 2013, the prayer group became a Congregation and without much delay, on 1st January 2014, this congregation was promoted to a church named All Saints Mar Thoma Church Peterborough, as part of the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church by its supreme authority by then Metropolitan Most. Rev. Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma Metropolitan. For some time, the church was housed in St. Luke Church and in St. Jude Church Peterborough according its availability and members attended these churches for Sunday worship and Holy Qurbana. On 1st February 2018, Peterborough St. Johns Hall was taken on lease for a period of 25 years and it was dedicated as a church to conduct worship and Holy Qurbana and all other Church related activities. Today the church is blessed by God to have grown to be of more than 100 families, most of whom are residing in Peterborough and the remaining in nearby towns and a few as far as 100 miles from the church. In order to, communicate efficiently and manage the prayers, the church has 6 prayer groups.
